“Enhancing research in Europe to build a low-carbon industry” : the watchword of our event on September 18th in Brussels

Our speakers of the day held inspiring presentations and discussions in front of a large audience of researchers, policymakers, actors of innovation and industry. The representatives of the European Commission shed light on the action of the European Union on two major topics, the value chain of carbon and the development of circular, fossil-free, and energy efficient industrial systems. Our various panelists also highlighted the still ongoing challenges that we have to address.

This event was also an exciting opportunity to present our research program PEPR SPLEEN for Industry Decarbonisation and its framework, France 2030.

These discussions emphasized the shared challenges at the French, European, and global level: decarbonisation is “an existential challenge”, as Mario Draghi expressed it in his recent report on EU competitiveness.

Decarbonisation may constitute a powerful lever to increase the competitiveness of the European industry.
