France-Taiwan scientific symposium on decarbonising industry
November 13th and 14th 2024
Decarbonising industry is a challenge that transcends national borders
This is why PEPR SPLEEN for the Decarbonization of Industry and Taiwan’s National Science & Technology Council have decided to organize a scientific symposium in Paris on November 13 and November 14, 2024.
The two-day event presented French and Taiwanese strategies and scenarios for decarbonizing industry and achieving net-zero targets by 2050. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the Saint Cyr laboratories and the IPGP – Pavillon Curie (underground operations).
Highly informative sessions included:
- Converting biomass into high-value chemicals and advanced carbon.
- Improving energy efficiency to reduce industrial emissions.
- Carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions.
- CO2 valorization for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other chemicals.
- Natural hydrogen and its potential.
- Social governance in underground engineering projects.
Two inspiring days of open and lively debate on the scientific questions currently being asked on these subjects!
